24-Year-old Man Marries 82-Year-Old Bride

Buenos Aires, Argentina (AHN) — A 24-year-old man married an 82-year-old woman after years of romance in the northern Argentine city of Santa Fe in a civil ceremony Friday.

The marriage was attended by family members and friends.

Reinaldo Waveqche, who has been living with his elderly bride ever since his mother died when he was 15, said the marriage was not for money. He said he has always liked ‘mature ladies.’ He said their relationship is founded on respect and love.

Adelfa Volpes, who was also Waveqche mother’s friend, said, “The age difference has never been important for us.” She offered him a home after he lost his mother but soon they found themselves attracted to each other, she said.

Waveqche, who is unemployed, and Volpes have planned to have their honeymoon in Rio de Janeiro.
